And almost of cloaking link methods are able to track the links by improving it, so you will get easy to know more detail about your links performance, such as clicks and impression.

There are several ways of cloaking your affiliate link. Here are a few you might be interested in.

1. HTML Meta Redirect Method

This method utilizes a meta refresh to redirect a file on your hosting account to your affiliate link. Here’s the code for example:

What you should do is open the file that contains code above. For example I named the file as pjn.html and I put it on my root directory, so the url to call the file is : http://www.goblogging.net/pjn.html

2. .htaccess method

By using .htaccess, you are essentially telling your host/web server what to do with a url request before it serves any file. This is a little different from the aforementioned meta refresh which is processed by your browser after the page has already been served.

For example, we’re trying to redirect http://www.goblogging.com/pjn to affiliate link: http://www.pntra.com/t/QzxBRUZHPEhIRkI8QkRE

Here is the code for the .htaccess file:

Redirect /pjn http://www.pntra.com/t/QzxBRUZHPEhIRkI8QkRE

So the url to call the link is : http://www.goblogging.net/pjn

3. PHP Header Redirect Method

This method utilizes php to redirect the end user to your affiliate link. Here’s the code for example:

For example I named the file as pjn.php and I put it on my root directory, so the url to call the file is : http://www.goblogging.net/pjn.php

How to cloak link using WordPress

For self hosted wordpress users, it will be easier to cloak your affiliate links by using wordpress plugin called GoCodes. At this time I using this plugin, I was did with my affiliate links.

I create this long Pepperjamnetwork affiliate link :
http://www.pntra.com/t/QzxBRUZHPEhIRkI8QkRE
to become shorter : http://www.goblogging.net/go/pjn and I think you could remember the link easyly, indeed. And my affiliate links will be tracked by using this plugin.

Install the plugin and activate it as common, and then add code below to your .htaccess file:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^go/([A-Za-z0-9]+)/?$ /index.php?gocode=$1 [L,R]
